MG has updated the MG ZS EV electric crossover for the 2023 model year and the vehicle now comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS. This new feature is being made available on the new ZS EV Exclusive Pro. This trim level sits above the regular Exclusive trim. Interestingly, the cheaper petrol-powered twin, the MG Astor already comes equipped with this assistance feature. The MG ZS EV delivers 461km of claimed range and can fast charge from zero to 80 percent in 30 minutes via a 30kW fast charger.
MG ZS EV price in India
- The MG ZS EV is now available in three trim levels – Excite, Exclusive and Exclusive Pro.
- The base Excite trim is available for Rs 23.38 lakh (ex-showroom) while the high-end Exclusive trim sets one back by Rs 27.29 lakh (ex-showroom). The Exclusive variant could be had with dual-tone Ivory shade interiors for a slight premium.
- The latest addition, the Exclusive Pro trim, bundles in the Level 2 ADAS technology for a Rs 59,000 premium and the variant gets a sticker price of Rs Rs 27.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
- The vehicle competes with the likes of the Tata Nexon EV MAX and Mahindra XUV400 in terms of range.Â
MG offers a 5-year / unlimited-kilometre warranty on the car and an 8-year / 1.5 lakh kilometre warranty on the battery pack. It also offers 5 years of RSA and 5 years of free labour services. The company also offers a buy-back plan to customers.Â
2023 MG ZS EV with Level 2 ADAS
- This technology bundles in features like blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
- It also includes slightly more advanced features like traffic jam assist, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, speed assist systems, and adaptive cruise control.
- Over and above these ADAS features MG ZS EV also packs in other essential safety systems such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and hill descent control.
- The vehicle is also well equipped and gets a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen system, wireless phone charging, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, connected car tech, auto wipers, leather upholstery, an electric-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, automatic air-con, in-built PM2.5 air filter, and more.
- The MG ZS EV is powered by a 50.3kW battery pack which delivers a claimed range of 461km. The vehicle can be juiced up to 100 percent via a home or office charger in eight to nine hours.
- The electric motor is mounted on the front axle and generates 176hp of peak power and 280Nm of peak torque. This enables the vehicle to go from 0 to 100kmph in 8.5 seconds.
- There are no cosmetic changes on the MG ZS EV for the 2023 model year.Â
